A lovely vintage Bates Vegrandis. Circa 1939. Purchased from the Bates shop in Thurrock, Essex.
It has the diadrant forks with the interesting and noticable bends.
Cantiflex 531 tubing by Reynolds, which is double butted but also varies in diameter along its length.
Wider in the middle (and therefore stronger) but reduces towards the ends to fit the standard lugs.
Brook professional leather saddle with large head copper rivets. GB Sport side pull brakes with Weinmann brake levers. 27″ Constrictor Conalloy rims with what we believe are Harden Flyweight large flange hubs.
Seat tube c-t-c 55cm. Top tube c-t-c 60cm. Down tube c-t-c 64cm.
