Description
The car was imported from Canada in 1969 driven for a few years and put into storage in 1973, it ended up in the hands of Luke Theochari of Terrys Beetle Services, he subsequently sold it to Bob Knight (father of Paul Knight, Ultra VW & Volksworld magazine), the car has never been fully restored so it has a nice honest feel, it has had some patch repair to the underside and inner wings in places. The body required no panels prior to painting in its original colour of Fjord Green. The paint is holding up well, it has some signs of age and there is some slight bubbling to the lower skin on the RHS door.
Bob & Paul also treated the car to a CSP front disc brake kit, a fantastic upgrade if you intend on putting some miles on the car!
In November 2018 the engine (non matching 1962 unit) was given to Prill Porsche Classics for a fully documented rebuild, upgraded to 86mm pistons/ liners 1720cc, invoice present and included with the sale.
A very nice driver car, in a rare factory colour with optional rear wiper! Included in the sale is a very rare under dash panel that houses an additional Blaupunkt radio preset unit and original mid sixties Phillips cassette player! Ready to drive and enjoy.
